In this post, you’ll discover three of the essential marketing tips that will help you increase sales in your business.

What is Marketing Tip?

It means a strategy to grow your business.

This post is straight to the point, and the three marketing tips shared can transform your sales effort.

  1. Build Relationships with your Prospects before you sell to them

Let me give you a gist.

I read about an Advert that ran in Business Week Magazine in 1958, and it says;

“I don’t know who you are.

I don’t know your company.

I don’t know your company’s product.

I don’t know what your company stands for.

I don’t know your company’s customers.

I don’t know your company’s record.

I don’t know your company’s reputation.

Now, what was it you wanted to sell me?

Just imagine you are asked that.

That’s the same feeling when you try to sell online to people who do not know, like and, trust you yet.

You may make some sales occasionally, but it will not be worth your effort.

In Digital Marketing, there is something called Inbound Marketing or Content Marketing.

In simple terms, this is you giving out something of value for free to build rapport and a relationship with your prospect or target audience, just like I am doing with this blog post.

I am on a roll for 21 days, I am giving you free but valuable Digital Marketing content daily, if you have missed any of my blog posts for this month, go to the archive and read up.

You need to sell the same way you buy.

Have you ever been stopped in a parking lot or the roadside by a salesperson trying to sell you something?

Did you always buy from them?

How come you are selling the same way and wondering why nobody is buying from you?

So genuinely ask yourself this question;

What value have I added to my prospect’s life to earn the right to invite them to a sales conversation and offer my solution to their problems and challenges?

  1. Make it Extremely Easy for Customers to Refer you

If you have a business that gets referrals, congratulations.

But you have got to make me feel proud for referring your business, do not make me defend your company because you failed to prove to my referrals that you are good enough.

What do I mean?

Your website is outdated.

Your blog is not consistently updated.

Your Twitter page looks abandoned.

Your LinkedIn profile is bare-boned and sketchy.

In this day and age, these things form the buying decisions of your prospects.

As a business owner ask yourself this question;

Does my overall online presence re-assure and re-enforce the referrals I earn?

Does it contain the most current, credible, and relevant marketing messages that will make my business advocates look better for referring me?

  1. Use Trusted Advisor Marketing

Trusted Advisor Marketing is the same thing as Inbound Marketing or Content Marketing. It means positioning yourself as a thought leader in your niche so that your name readily comes to mind when prospects need your service.

There are four critical levels to Trusted Advisor Marketing;

  • Reputation – It has to do with your work and track record.
  • Amplification – It’s how you make your signal stronger using stuff like Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing, Business Blogging, Keyword Research, and SEO.
  • Leverage – It’s where you start capitalizing on your brand collaterals like your Blog, Videos, Podcasts, Interviews, Whitepapers, Book excerpts. It’s where you can now reach out to high probability prospects both individually and collectively.
  • Gravity – It’s where you start to see payoffs, like more leads, better prospects, more significant opportunities, more conversations, higher-profile alliances, more invitations to speak, more requests to do work at premium fees. It takes real hard work to get here, but once here, it is hard to stop because of the power of momentum.

Here is something to think about;

Do you want to continue trying to sell to strangers, or do you want more people to recognize, respect, and request you by name when they need your product or service?

Endeavor to add value to your niche and selling becomes easy.

Add value to the point that your prospects feel bad for not patronizing you.
