It’s understandable if how to monetize your blog is uppermost in your mind; after all, you are a Business Owner, and there’s nothing wrong about that.
Monetizing your blog to the detriment of your user experience is what is wrong.
Is it possible to monetize your blog and yet improve your user experience?
Of course, that’s precisely why I wrote this post.
After reading this post, you’ll know for sure how to improve your blog monetization without sacrificing user experience.
What is Blog Monetization?
Let’s keep it simple. It means how you make money on your blog or monetize your blog.
The truth is, most people get it wrong when it comes to making money from a blog.
Understand that your blog is the channel that allows you to establish thought-leadership and nurture a relationship with your audience and prospect.
The primary purpose of your blog is to teach your audience, so they can get further down on your funnel and get ready to buy from you.
You must understand this mindset; if you don’t, you may struggle with how to monetize your blog.
Online, people mostly buy from those they know, like, and trust; the objective of your blog should be to grow your KLT (know, like, trust) factor.
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care, so genuinely help your audience, and it will increase your chances of making money online.
The above is the basis of making money from your blog; every other thing revolves around this.
5 ways to monetize your blog without destroying your user experience
In this post, I’ve pointed out five ways to help you monetize your blog, ensure you put them to work.
Reduce the number of banner ads on your blog
Banner ads are only useful to make a decent income from if you have hundreds of thousands of visitors to your blog.
With Digital Marketing, money is made at the backend and not on the blog.
So, to generate income, reduce the clutter (i.e., banner ads) and instead create a valuable freebie which you can give to your visitors in exchange for their email address.
It lets you nurture your subscribers with valuable content that emphasizes your thought-leadership.
Your email list is your most valuable asset in Digital Marketing.
Most of the money online is made through email marketing and a sales funnel, which is why I said the back end is where the action is.
Until people come to your blog and wonder how you are making money, you have not de-cluttered your blog.
Create a Digital Product
Irrespective of what you sell, you can create a digital product. It can be a PDF, Podcast, Video course, or membership site.
After the creation of the digital product, then you have to promote the product to your email list, but only after you have added value to them.
In simple worldly terms, if you propose to a lady the very first day you meet her, the chances are that she will turn you down and brand you as disrespectful. You need to court her, take her on multiple dates, prove you care before you ever pop the question, and stand any chance of getting a definite answer.
So most times, you’ll make more money promoting your products than all those banner ads littering your blog.
Use pop-ups on your blog creatively
Let your pop-ups trigger with your valuable offer when your visitors are about to leave your site.
If you allow it to trigger immediately a visitor comes to your page, you may have interfered with that visitor’s experience.
The chances are that the visitor does not know you yet; you need to allow him to read your posts and build up some trust before you show your pop-up, and ideally, your pop-up should not be a sale; it should be a free and valuable offer in exchange for their email.
If you are blogging as a Business Owner, focus on adding value and building your email list through your blog, then you can make more money selling through email and webinars.

Retarget your visitors
Remember, your front end effort should target building your email list while you convert them to customers at the backend.
Only show highly relevant ads or offers on your blog
If you do decide to promote offers on your blog, be sure they are highly relevant to your audience. An exception would be an entertainment blog.
We are back to the basics, which is to seek to help our audience genuinely. You must promote only offers that will add value to your audience.
You need to understand that money does not respond to your desire for it; instead, it responds to value-added.
If you add value to your audience via your posts, they’ll be receptive to your offers. Monetizing your blog will be a breeze.
Here is the summary of this post;
